There was much shock at this years GAMESCOM after (alongside Ratchet & Clank All4One) Resistance 3 was confirmed with a 3 minute, live-action teaser trailer, it showed a group of survivors (including Resistance 2's Joseph Cappelli) on a train riding through America. It starts with Joseph Cappelli, recognisable by the scar on his left cheek, getting on a train with a small group of others who seem to be carrying food and weapons.

The train travels through ruined cities, towns and the countryside with many chimera popping up now and then. It is clear that humans have lost the war and the chimera have taken over, a large tripod chimera machine from Resistance: Fall of Man and Resistance 2 struts in the background of one shot, another sees, hybrids/grims walking (but only a close up and you cannot see their faces, and the other I managed to spot was a hybrid lifting his head above a bush to watch the humans pass by. Things get stranger and stranger as it goes on; a road smeared with blood, an impaled man, a man waving through a window. Then the train stops, a siren wails (not unlike the WW2 bombing raid siren), and the people begin to load their weapons. One of the survivors holds a lighter outside and immediately the lights of Chimera cooling packs can be seen, along with the sinister glow of their eyes. Then they attack and a brief shoot-out is seen with various chimera strains (however none new), it ends on a cliffhanger with everything blacking out, and no bullets being fired. Who won? We may find out later this year or next year. Look forward to then!
