Genre: First-person shooter
Multiplayer: Yes
Contenders: Black ops, Crysis, Halo reach
The latest first-person shooter to hit the high street is Medal Of Honor. Its soon to be released on the 12th October 2010 in America and for the rest of us (mainly central europe) to be with us on the 15th October 2010. This is great news for those Medal Of Honor fans, but in this case some of these fans may find it dissapointing, that the franchise is leaving the WW2 battlegrounds for a modern reboot.

Single-player
Now let me talk about the game and what makes it a seperate piece from hollywood style shooters. Basically the single-player consists of you playing a bearded tier 1 operator taking on hardcore missions without fail. You step in the boots of a tier 1 and take on a enemy in the harsh and unforgiving terrain of Afghanistan. These guys are the best at fighting stealth and doing behind enemy line assaults. You also get a chance to play as "The scalpel". This is similer to how in Call Of Duty, were you play as different teams for different missions. These guys are your frontline lads. This is were action is filled on the screen as you do frontline assaults. You will also be acomplishing missions that will take you piloting helicopters, snipering enemys and giving you a taste of real warfare. With this "real warfare" in mind, it contrasts Modern Warfares hollywood set and operation flashpoints very difficult play style.
The multiplayer has been developed by Dice, who have recently produced Battlefield: bad company 2. So I'am hoping to see some battlefield trademarks such as:
Vehicles
weapon power
maps
As you might know there has been a Beta to this multiplayer, featuring a map where you fight through the virtual ruins of Kabul. This taster map is proberly the most down sized map of the game but knowing Dice they have even exceeded the size of their biggest maps.
There is about three classes that bring different skills to the battlefield, large range of weapons to be used, weapon perks e.g. scopes, lasers and ammo, and finally good range of vehicles to own with.
Preview vertict
What I know about Medal Of Honor so far that it will have many games rivaling it this winter due to Black ops, halo reach and many top notch games coming to view. At the moment I can say it will be a winner to its semi-realistic look and Battlefield/Modern Warfare 2 multiplayer perks.
So make sure you are there to get this MOH revive on 12th October (America) and 15th October(rest of us).
